Welcome to Artdigenous

When you purchase items from this website you support a business that is

  • 100% indigenous owned and managed
  • based on environmental and social justice principals
  • committed to supporting indigenous communities

Artdigenous acknowledges that Art is present in many forms: the Art of Painting, Sculpting and Carving, the Art of Healing, the Art of Storytelling, the Art of Cooking, the Art of Learning, and most of all, the Art of caring for Mother Earth. Artdigenous embraces these different forms of Art and supports the local community by

  • Providing a local gallery and arts & crafts shop where indigenous artists can display their art (eg. paintings, carvings, didgeridoos, clap sticks, boomerangs) and tell their stories;
  • Supporting indigenous products that promote indigenous culture and the natural Australian landscape (eg. Bushfoods, skin care and health care products, educational resources);
  • Initiating and participating in community activities and projects (using art as the ‘catalyst and ‘fabric’) to raise awareness about the importance of cultural diversity, caring for the land, and sharing stories;
  • Organizing cultural workshops and tours (for people of all ages) to learn about the different roles that Art and Culture can play in our lives (eg. painting with ochres, didgeridoo lessons, local cultural tours)

Artdigenous gallery and shop front is located at The Teaching and Learning Centre at The Gummingurru stone arrangement site, just north of Toowoomba (The Garden City).  This site sits atop the Great Dividing Range in the picturesque Darling Downs Region, 2hrs inland from the Australian eastern coast.

10% of all profits made from the sale of Artdigenous products is used to support and preserve The Gummingurru stone arrangement site.
